Indian Bollywood actress Madhubala Madhubala ( born Mumtaz Jehan Begum Dehlavi ) was a legendary Indian actress who worked in Hindi films during the 1950s and early 1960s. She was born on February 14, 1933, in Delhi, India. Madhubala's family was originally from Peshawar, in present-day Pakistan, and moved to Delhi during the partition of India. She had a difficult childhood as her father was a conservative and strict man who forced her to work as a child artist to support the family. Madhubala made her debut in the film "Basant" in 1942, when she was just nine years old. She went on to act in several films as a child artist and made her debut as a leading lady in the film "Neel Kamal" in 1947, at the age of 14. Her breakthrough film came in 1949 with the film "Mahal", which was a huge commercial and critical success.
